“The industry is constantly pushing the boundaries of tattooing each and everyday; that is a force that I want to be apart of.”
Toronto-based tattoo artist Stella Luo is at the front of a new era of tattooing; One that favors sophisticated fine line tattoos.
Her signature style involves simple, elegant and subtle pieces that showcase how beautiful tattoos can be when a minimalistic approach is taken.
These tattoos are crafted with a refined attention to detail that flow seamlessly into an everyday lifestyle. Such designs can be completely discreet; yet when visible are sure to attract plenty of attention with their elegance, flow and simplicity.
Stella, who is self-taught in an array of mediums ranging from graphite to watercolor had an interest in tattooing at the young age of 14.
“I knew from a very early stage in my life that I would somehow make a living through art, but was unsure of how to go about it. My older siblings started getting tattoos; which then intrigued my curiosity to learn everything I could about the craft. I was blown away with the art, talent and breath taking imagery that was being printed onto peoples skin and the essence of trust that essentially came with the process. The industry is constantly pushing the boundaries of tattooing each and everyday; and that is a force that I want to be apart of.”
The young artist, who is currently working at Golden Iron Tattoo Studio has grown a steadfast momentum for success and isn’t planning on stopping any time soon.
“At the end of the day, as long as I have my team at Golden Iron to learn from, and to grow with I can be sure to accomplish any challenge that is thrown my way. The 14 year old me would be so proud to see me living out my dream.”
