Corey started his journey as a tattoo apprentice at a relatively young age; according to him, being a tattoo artist is one of the only jobs he had ever considered in life.
Although Corey has little artistic background, he has always been extremely passionate about various forms of modern art; from album covers, video game concept arts to graffiti. Playing in a band has exposed him to many heavily tattooed individuals; which induced a fascination with this art form at first sight. This early exposure planted a seed in his mind which resulted in him walking into Golden Iron tattoo studio to take his chance at commencing his tattooing career.
“The smell of green soap and the sound of tattoo machines always make me feel like im at home. I felt a sense of belonging the minute I walked into the studio. Always looking to create, Corey is consistently working on his craft to better his skill set. He enjoys realism and lettering tattoos and is consistently focusing on being able to tell a story with his art. Corey works closely with his clientele to assure every detail is executed correctly and to their liking.
“Earning the clients respect is one of the best parts of the job for me honestly. I feel that the connection between client and artist is just as important as the tattoo itself and is what makes the experience even more meaningful.” Corey is learning every day, and is thankful for each and every client who gives him the chance to fulfil his dream. He’s looking forward for what is yet to come, and is eager to continue this journey.
