His passion for art began at a very young age and continues to flourish irrefutably. Edisson was introduced to Toronto’s graffiti culture during his high school years which soon after led him to experimenting with spray paints as a preferred medium. He later went on to pursue a career where his creativity and talent could be used to his advantage. He enrolled in the Graphic Design program at Humber College. Edisson was introduced to hand drawn lettering in Typography class and felt an undeniable passion correlating with his deep interest in graffiti.
“Getting tattooed resonated so strongly with me and I quickly became enthralled with this captivating form of art.”, Edisson explains of his first tattoo experience.
His career focus shifted from learning Graphic design to refining his artwork to attain a tattoo apprenticeship. After several months of building a portfolio, Edisson found Golden Iron and has worked towards building a career within tattooing using his background in lettering and graffiti. With graffiti and calligraphy both sharing a fluid and dynamic aesthetic, he has focused on refining his lettering skills to offer a unique style to tattooing that has a dynamic, graphic flow on the body.
